DescriptionOur client is now recruiting for a Logistics Assistant (6 months renewable)

Executive Summary:
Logistics Assistant is a job function in the Storefront as part of MRO Network Solutions, Material Services business model in executing of the contract between the organization and its customer. Logistics Assistant is primarily responsible for the creation of repair orders, purchase orders, following up the shipments and updating ERP with key dates and data associated with customer and its new/used/repair material that needs to be overhauled including piece parts, retables, modules and proposals. Logistics Assistant supports the logistics process controllers and material planners incorporating shipment planning information and ERP integrity. Logistics assistant works closely with freight forwarders and keeps the ERP updated with latest key date and data. He/she facilitates and expedites shipments and ensures effective communication & coordination so that targeted transit time, turnaround time and lead times are achieved so that customer satisfaction is ensured.

Basic Functions:
• Support shipment process (operational process) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons to support the logistics process controllers and material planners.
• Follows processes, seeks areas of improvement that contributes to overall TAT.
• Interact with the storefront team members, service providers, suppliers to make sure that contribution is timely ensured in the process to avoid delays.
• Follow a collaborative and consensus approach to obtain data and accurate information in ERP and convert it in a meaningful format and share on regular basis and provide visibility as well as tracking to the entire stakeholders.
• Use and maintain the ERP and MS Excel as the primary data system tool.
• Provide input to the team suppliers and logistics service providers in coordinating and expediting shipments of items.
• Closely coordinate and communicate delays, urgencies, critical parts and report process improvement areas with stakeholders.


Job Functions:
• Fulfilling on contract commitments including delivery of new, used and repair parts turn-around time during an engine overhaul.
• Primary liaison between the Company’s on site located warehouse in the MRO overhaul shop and Company’s Engine Services Spares, global Component Repair Vendors, and Used Material Vendors to manage material delivery and repair turn-around time in accordance with customer requirements.
• Manage inbound and outbound shipments and coordination with suppliers and service providers such as freight forwarders and customs brokers.
• Create repair orders, purchase orders, shipping documentation and invoices in Company’s ERP system.
• Create daily customer open/closed order reports that demonstrate the performance results of the repair shop, storefront and service providers.
• Manage vendor and customer financials; make sure that payment for the service provider, suppliers and repair shops are triggered.
• Manage timely freight payment for service providers
• Ensure consistent on-site logistics services to deliver contractual commitments to customers.
• Be familiar with and enforce compliance with all financial, customs and transportation processes and policies.
• Ownership of the purchase orders & repair orders from creation to closure, door to door both inbound and outbound, having daily status updates on hand by collecting regular order reports and weekly open order calls with suppliers.
• Ensure that all repair orders are expedited to meet required assembly/delivery dates by the customer as well as business. In case of critical/urgent orders, delivery schedules are closely monitored and coordinated with suppliers as well as freight forwarders to ensure items are received on time.
• Creation and maintain daily order status trackers/open order reports that helps to determine priority materials for engine assembly.
• Producing supplier performance reports and statistics on regular basis defined by the business

• Logistics non-value added activities mitigated by proactive coordination with accurate information that allows the company to timely predict the logistics time provide its supply chain with the appropriate information to plan how to meet that customer demand.
• Improved relationships among logistics service providers, repair shops, suppliers, customer which will lead to effective knowledge sharing and an optimal consensus supply chain performance to better guide the company.
• Refined systems and methods to continually improve logistics process and support to implement robust processes in place so that the company can better anticipate customer needs and ensure satisfaction.
• Execute with excellence in the area of customer replenishment and feedback to the Supply Chain groups the opportunities and risks regarding customer replenishment performance metrics where logistics contributes.

Required Education / Experience / Specific Job-related Skills
Years of Experience:
Three to five years of experience in the industry.

Education/Training:
BA/BS college degree or its equivalent.

Licenses/Certificates:
APICS or other aviation related certification preferred

Other:
• Logistics Assistant is expected to demonstrate proficiency in logistics, and TAT performance measurement methods with an understanding of their inventory, financial, production and operational impacts.
• Knowledge of Oracle related ERP related to supply chain management is preferred. Experience in other software packages including Windows, Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel and Visio is essential.
• This position requires strong coordination and problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the supply chain and operational process.
